Vale Faceted Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White

The Vale is a 330mm pendant light built around a column of natural Spanish alabaster, sleeved inside a faceted clear glass outer shell. A solid copper suspension cap and ceiling plate hold the fitting on a black flex, and an E27 lamp socket sits hidden inside the alabaster core (bulb sold separately). The 200mm diameter outer glass gives the pendant a defined lantern silhouette while keeping the stone fully visible from every angle.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, hallways and bedside positions, the Vale works well hung singly over a side table or in a row of two or three above a longer worktop. The slim 200mm diameter keeps the visual footprint compact, so the pendant suits rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards without dominating the space. The cable can be shortened on installation to set the drop at a sensible 700-800mm above a worktop.

The alabaster core shows natural veining and tonal shifts that become more pronounced once the bulb is lit, with warm light passing through the stone and out through the surrounding glass. Each piece of alabaster is cut from a different section of stone, so the pattern of marbling differs between individual pendants. The copper hardware ages gently over time, deepening in tone and pairing comfortably with both warm and cooler interior palettes.

What bulb does it take?

The Vale uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W at 2700K-3000K typically suits the alabaster best, drawing out the natural veining without bleaching the stone.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each alabaster core is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, marbling and tonal variation differ from one pendant to the next. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and the patterning becomes more visible once the bulb is lit.

Can it be hung over a kitchen island?

Yes. The 200mm diameter and 330mm height suit installation in a row of two or three above a kitchen island or breakfast bar. The flex can be shortened during fitting to set the bottom of the pendant 700-800mm above the worktop.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth, and use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water for stubborn marks. Do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on the stone.
