Valenro 20 Light Cylindrical Alabaster Chandelier - Brass

The Valenro is a 500mm circular chandelier built around a brushed brass ring carrying twenty cylindrical shades cut from natural Spanish alabaster. The shades are arranged in two staggered tiers around the ring, each one hand-cut as a short stone cylinder and individually mounted to the frame. Twenty G4 capsule lamp sockets sit inside the cylinders, with bulbs sold separately. A central brass drop rod and matching ceiling canopy complete the suspension.

At 500mm in diameter the Valenro suits dining tables of around 1.2-1.6m, kitchen islands, and circular hallway voids where a compact chandelier with multiple light points is needed. The fitting hangs 460mm below the ceiling as supplied (160mm body plus 300mm rod), making it workable in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. Above a dining table the chandelier typically sits 700-800mm above the surface; the rod can be shortened on installation if a tighter drop is required.

Each alabaster cylinder shows different mineral veining and tonal variation depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so the twenty shades read as related but not identical when lit. The honed surface of the alabaster lets light pass through the thinner sections while denser areas hold their opacity, giving the ring a varied glow rather than a uniform line of light. The brushed brass ring and rod contrast warmly against the pale stone without competing with it.

What bulbs does the Valenro take?

The chandelier uses 20 x G4 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G4 LED capsules are recommended over halogen for lower heat output, longer life and reduced load when running twenty lamps together. A warm-white 2700K-3000K bulb best complements the natural stone.

What size room and table does it suit?

The 500mm diameter works well above dining tables of around 1.2-1.6m, circular kitchen islands, and entrance halls. With a total drop of 460mm the chandelier suits ceilings from 2.4m upwards. Above a dining table, hang the fitting 700-800mm above the table surface.

Can the drop be adjusted?

The supplied 300mm rod can be shortened during installation if a higher fitting position is needed. The chandelier is rod-suspended rather than chain-hung, so length adjustment is done by the electrician at the time of fitting.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the cylinders gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on the stone.
