Velaris 2 Light Double Alabaster Wall Light - Brushed Brass

The Velaris is a 520mm vertical wall light built around two cylinders of natural Spanish alabaster, joined at the midpoint by a brushed brass band that houses two E27 lamp fittings (sold separately). One bulb sits inside the upper alabaster cylinder and one inside the lower, lighting each section of stone independently from within.

Sized for hallways, stairwells, bedside positions and bathroom flanking walls beside a mirror, the slim 80mm width and 110mm projection allow the Velaris to sit on narrow wall sections without dominating the surface. The vertical orientation throws a long, even column of ambient light up and down the wall, making it useful as an alternative to picture lights or as a paired set either side of a console, headboard or vanity.

The alabaster is cut from natural Spanish stone, so each cylinder shows different mineral veining and tonal variation. When the lamps are lit, those internal patterns become visible through the translucency of the stone, making the fitting read differently lit and unlit. The brushed brass centre band is precisely machined where it meets the alabaster, with a subtle stepped detail that introduces a horizontal break across the otherwise continuous vertical line of the fitting.

The combined alabaster body and brass hardware give the Velaris a substantial physical presence for its slim footprint. Two E27 fittings allow buyers to choose bulb output and colour temperature to suit the room, with warm-white 2700K-3000K LEDs producing the most flattering glow through the natural stone.

What bulbs does the Velaris take?

The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, one for the upper alabaster cylinder and one for the lower. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white LED at 2700K-3000K, around 6-8W per bulb, produces the most flattering glow through the natural stone.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

The Velaris does not carry a bathroom IP rating in the supplied specification. We recommend installing it outside bathroom zones or in non-bathroom rooms unless an IP rating is confirmed. Please contact us before specifying for a bathroom installation.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. The differences become more visible when the lamps are lit.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the stone gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the alabaster and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as the stone is porous.
