Velmora Slim Cylindrical Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White & Brass

The Velmora is a slim cylindrical pendant light cut from a single column of natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a black flex from a brass ceiling plate. The shade measures 260mm tall by 100mm wide, giving a tall, narrow profile that hangs as a vertical stone tube. An E14 lamp socket sits concealed inside the shade, with the bulb visible only as a soft brass-toned glow at the open base.

The narrow 100mm diameter suits installations where a wider pendant would feel heavy: above a kitchen island in multiples of three or five, flanking a bathroom mirror, or as a single pendant beside a bedside table in place of a lamp. The slim form factor also works well in stairwells and hallways with limited width, and the cylindrical shape directs more light downward than a hemispherical bowl, making it useful as task-adjacent lighting over a worktop.

Each Velmora shade carries the natural veining and tonal variation of the stone it was cut from, with warm cream marbling flowing through a soft white body. When the bulb is lit, the alabaster glows from within and the mineral patterns become the visible feature of the fitting. The brass ceiling plate at the top adds a warm metallic accent that bridges the alabaster shade and the black flex above it.

What bulb does the Velmora take?

The Velmora uses a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED of around 4-6W and 2700K-3000K suits the alabaster best, producing a soft amber glow through the stone. Avoid cool-white bulbs above 4000K, which flatten the natural veining.

Can I hang several Velmora pendants together?

Yes. The slim 100mm diameter is designed to be used in multiples. A common configuration is three or five Velmora pendants spaced 250-300mm apart over a kitchen island, each suspended from its own ceiling plate, or staggered at varied drops over a stairwell.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, marbling and translucency differ between individual pendants. This is a feature of the natural stone and means no two Velmora shades look identical when lit.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the shade with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but do not soak the stone or use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
