Virella Faceted Alabaster Table Lamp - Brass & Soft White

The Virella is a 650mm-tall table lamp built around a faceted Spanish alabaster base set within a polished brass frame, topped with a rectangular soft white PVC shade. The alabaster is cut into angular geometric planes that resemble cut crystal or rock strata, with the brass frame tracing each edge to define the silhouette. A single E27 lamp socket sits inside the shade, and the lamp measures 430mm long and 230mm wide at the base.

Designed for sideboards, console tables, hallway tables and bedside surfaces of 400mm depth or greater, the Virella works as a decorative table lamp rather than primarily as task light. The rectangular shade casts an even, ambient glow downward and outward, while the alabaster base remains a sculptural object whether the lamp is switched on or off. A standard inline switch on the cable controls the fitting.

Each alabaster facet is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual lamps and across the planes of any single piece. The polished brass framing emphasises the geometry of the cuts and gives the base a defined edge against the softer shade above. At 430mm long, the rectangular shade is wider than the alabaster base, helping to balance the visual weight between the sculptural lower section and the cleaner upper volume.

What bulb does the Virella take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W at 2700K-3000K suits the soft white shade and brings out the warm tones in the alabaster and brass.

Is the alabaster the same on every lamp?

No. Each base is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual lamps and even between facets on the same piece. This is a feature of the natural material.

What surface size does it suit?

The base measures 430mm long by 230mm wide, so the lamp suits sideboards, console tables and hallway surfaces at least 400mm deep. It is taller than a typical bedside lamp at 650mm, so check shade height against your bed or seating eye line before placing it on a low bedside table.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone with water.
