Virello Large Raindrop Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White

The Virello is a 290mm teardrop pendant light cut from a single piece of natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a fine copper cable from a slim copper canopy. The form tapers from a narrow neck into a fuller rounded base, drawing on the silhouette of a falling water droplet. A single G9 lamp sits inside the alabaster body, lighting the stone from within so the entire surface glows rather than throwing light downward.

At 290mm tall and 180mm in diameter, the Virello suits positions where a sculptural single pendant carries the visual weight: above a bedside table, over a console or sideboard, in a stairwell void, or grouped at staggered heights above a kitchen island or dining table. The minimal copper suspension keeps the focus on the alabaster shape and allows the pendant to be hung at almost any drop on installation.

Because each Virello is cut from natural alabaster, the veining, mineral inclusions and tonal variation differ from one pendant to the next. Some pieces show dense white marbling, others reveal warmer amber bands or grey shadows through the stone. When the G9 is lit, these variations become more pronounced as light passes through the thinner sections of the alabaster, giving the pendant a quiet sense of depth even at low brightness.

What bulb does the Virello take?

The pendant uses a single G9 capsule lamp, sold separately. Most buyers pair it with a 2.5-3.5W warm-white LED G9 around 2700K, which lifts the natural warm tones in the alabaster without overpowering the stone.

Will every pendant look the same?

No. Each Virello is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, marbling and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and the differences become more visible when the lamp is lit.

Can the drop length be adjusted?

Yes. The copper suspension cable is shortened on installation to suit the ceiling height and intended hanging position, whether that is at eye level beside a bed, lower over a dining surface, or at staggered heights in a cluster.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the surface gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and any chemical cleaners, as these can mark or dull the natural stone over time.
