Virello Small Raindrop Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White

The Virello Small is a teardrop-shaped pendant light cut from a single piece of natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a slim cable from a tapered soft-white neck. The body measures 240mm high and 130mm in diameter, with a G9 lamp socket housed inside the stone. The narrow upper taper widens into a rounded base, giving the fitting the silhouette of a falling water droplet frozen mid-air.

The compact scale suits positions where a larger alabaster pendant would dominate: above a bedside table as a hanging reading light, in a cluster of three or five over a kitchen island or stairwell, or as a single accent light in a hallway, cloakroom or window reveal. The slim suspension cable can be shortened on installation to set the drop precisely, and the small canopy keeps the visual weight at the alabaster body rather than the ceiling.

The alabaster is left in a soft white polished finish that shows the stone's natural veining, mineral inclusions and subtle warm tonal shifts in the upper section. When the G9 bulb is lit, the translucent stone glows from within and reveals the internal marbling that is otherwise only faintly visible. The structural fittings at the neck are solid copper, chosen for strength at the suspension point and kept minimal so the alabaster remains the focal element.

What bulb does the Virello take?

The pendant uses a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED G9 between 2700K and 3000K is recommended to bring out the warm tones in the alabaster veining when lit.

Does each pendant look the same?

No. Each raindrop is cut and shaped from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral inclusions and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. The variation is most visible in the upper third of the body where the stone shows warmer amber and grey markings.

Can it be hung in a cluster?

Yes. The compact 130mm diameter and 240mm height make the Virello well suited to clusters of three, five or more above kitchen islands, stairwells or dining tables. Vary the drop lengths to stagger the raindrops at different heights for a cascading effect.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid water, household sprays, polishes and any chemical cleaners, which can stain or dull the surface.
