Vireth Large Cylinder Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White

The Vireth is a 380mm tall cylindrical pendant light cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a matt black cord from a matching matt black cap. The slim 70mm diameter gives the pendant a vertical column form rather than the rounded bowl shape more common in alabaster lighting. A single E14 lamp sits inside the cylinder (sold separately), with the alabaster itself acting as the diffuser.

Designed for spaces where vertical drop is wanted without visual bulk, the Vireth suits kitchen islands hung in pairs or groups of three, stairwells, hallways with double-height ceilings, and bedside positions in place of a table lamp. The narrow 70mm diameter means several pendants can be clustered at varying drops without crowding each other, and the matt black cord can be specified to the height needed during installation.

Each cylinder shows different mineral veining running through the stone — pale cream tones, faint grey banding and translucent patches that become visible only when the lamp is switched on. Cold the alabaster reads as a soft white column; lit, it reveals the internal structure of the stone along the full length of the cylinder. The matt black cap and cord provide a deliberate contrast against the pale stone and keep the suspension visually quiet.

What bulb does the Vireth take?

The pendant takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K works well, allowing the warm glow to pass through the alabaster without overheating the stone.

Can I hang several Vireth pendants together?

Yes. The slim 70mm diameter makes the Vireth well suited to clustering. Over a kitchen island, a row of three at matching or staggered drops works well, and the matt black cord can be cut to different lengths during installation to create a tiered arrangement.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tone and translucency differ between individual pendants. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and the variation is most visible when the pendant is switched on.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as these can stain or etch the surface of the stone.
