Vireth Small Cylinder Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White

The Vireth is a slim cylindrical pendant light measuring 300mm tall and 70mm in diameter, with a shade carved from a single piece of natural Spanish alabaster in a soft white tone. The cylinder is capped at both ends with matte black metal hardware and suspended on a black flex from a matching ceiling rose. Inside the shade, an E14 lamp socket accepts a single bulb (sold separately).

The narrow profile suits clustered installations above kitchen islands and dining tables, lined runs along breakfast bars, and single-point use over bedside tables, console tables and stairwells. Its compact 70mm diameter means several Vireth pendants can hang side by side at varied drop heights without crowding each other, and the slim form works in rooms where a wider shade would feel heavy. The pendant fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable can be shortened on installation.

Each alabaster cylinder shows its own pattern of veining and density variation, visible as warm shadowing through the stone when the bulb is lit. The matte black caps at the top and base draw a clean line against the soft white alabaster and add visual weight at the suspension point and the lower edge. The resulting form reads as a vertical column of stone bracketed by dark metal, with no exposed fixings between the two materials.

What bulb does the Vireth take?

The pendant uses a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 3W and 6W at 2700K-3000K pairs well with the natural alabaster and brings out the warm tone of the stone when lit.

Can multiple Vireth pendants be hung together?

Yes. The 70mm diameter is narrow enough that several pendants can be hung in clusters or rows above an island or dining table without crowding. Each pendant ships with its own ceiling rose, so the spacing and drop height can be set on installation.

Will the alabaster look identical to the photograph?

The veining pattern, mineral density and tonal variation differ between individual pieces because each cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster. The overall soft-white appearance and proportions match, but the precise figuring of the stone is unique to each pendant.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone with water, as moisture can mark the surface.
