Zeal Vertical Orb Alabaster Wall Light - Black & Brass

The Zeal is a 420mm vertical wall light built around four stacked spherical elements: a brushed brass dome at the top, a slender black stem dropping to a matt black wall plate, then a smaller matt black orb, a brushed brass bead and a natural Spanish alabaster sphere at the base. A single G9 lamp sits inside the alabaster orb, casting light through the stone. Overall projection from the wall is 120mm and the fitting is 120mm wide.

Designed for hallways, bedside positions, dressing areas and either side of a vanity mirror, the Zeal works as decorative ambient lighting rather than directed task light. The compact 120mm width allows it to flank narrower wall sections and pair symmetrically beside doorways or mirrors. The wall plate covers a standard back box and the fitting is hard-wired, so installation is fixed rather than plug-in.

The lower alabaster sphere is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so each piece shows different veining, golden cream marbling and tonal variation. When the G9 lamp is on, the stone glows from within and the patterns inside the alabaster become more pronounced. The matt black orbs and brushed brass bead above it give a layered silhouette that draws the eye down the length of the fitting to the lit sphere at the base.

What bulb does the Zeal take?

The Zeal uses a single G9 lamp, which sits inside the lower alabaster sphere. G9 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) suit the alabaster best, since they let the natural cream and gold tones in the stone read warmly when lit. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is the alabaster identical on every piece?

No. Each lower sphere is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, marbling and translucency differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and the variation becomes more visible when the lamp is switched on.

Where is the Zeal best installed?

The 420mm height and 120mm projection suit hallways, bedside positions, dressing areas and either side of a vanity mirror. It functions as decorative ambient lighting, so pair it with separate task or overhead lighting in rooms that need higher light levels.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the alabaster sphere with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners — alabaster is porous and softer than marble.
